In short, Crunchyroll does not provide the same content to users outside the USA as it does with users living in USA, no matter where you subscribed from originally. All you have to do is fake your Internet location to appear coming from the USA. You can do this in two ways, either VPN or Smart DNS Proxies. Each of those has it’s own set of benefits which I will discuss below. VPN means Virtual Private Network. If you use VPN ALL your traffic will get tunneled to the USA, and it will all be encrypted. The main problem is that VPN is not supported on most TV-boxes and SmarTVs. So unless you have a VPN enabled router you are better of jumping to Smart DNS proxies below. Some of VPN features are :
- All traffic is encrypted, no spying or eavesdropping on you.
- Depending on your VPN provider you might get easy to use Apps for iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android, Mac, and Windows.

Smart DNS Proxies are a different beast altogether. Only partial traffic is re-routed, that traffic that determines which country you are from is sent to the USA. This way you don’t get a speed hit. But your traffic is not encrypted. On the bright side, all your other traffic goes normally through the Internet and ALL devices are supported. Here is a bit more info :
- All Netflix regions are supported, WWE Network, Hulu Plus and at the same time without change from your side sites from other countries such as BBC Iplayer, Canal Plus, and CBC as well.
- All you have to do is change the DNS address on your devices. A one minute job even for novices.
- No speed penalty.
- Smart DNS, however, is not resilient against ISP limitations. So if you are unlucky enough to be subscribed to one of those ISPs that still apply DNS Hijacking and/or Transparent Proxies you are out of luck and have to use VPN.

Hi, yes it still does. On a PS4 you need to use either the Smart DNS method, or you can setup VPN on your router.

I’m trying to use VPN in Spain, but Crunchyroll isn’t showing my American shows (one piece specifically), So I’m not positive that it works.
And in fact, Netflix automatically stops as soon as it notices your VPN. :( damn

Hello Kajin. It seems that issue is related to the VPN service you’re using. I’d suggest using ExpressVPN.
