How to Watch Molotov TV outside France

Molotov was able to detect my location and block me from watching any French channels live by looking at my IP address. By using VPN, I was able to change my IP address and obtain a French IP address instead. Thus, unblock Molotov TV outside France.

I’m using ExpressVPN directly setup on my router to watch mycanal and molotov on my appletv. It works really well!!
The only problem is with Netflix… it doesn’t works, because Netlfix France doesn’t works with the French server.
Do you think all (mycanal,molotov & Netflix) can work with the smart Dns from ExpressVPN ? (Setup on the router and using appletv)

Is anyone found a way to watch molotov on the Apple TV? It use to work with unlocator but not anymore. Then you were able to Cast it to chromcast but they blocked it now . I use vpn unlimited and it work great on iPhone and iPad but no luck on the Apple TV .
I have a VPS with a FR IP, Molotov work great, but i do not want to route all my trafic through this VPN, did someone know if there is a list of IP servers used by Molotov (and othe services) to geolocalise the user ? I would route through the VPN only the relevant IP, and not the video stream (like with SmartDNS).
I can’t seem to get the molotov app on my iPad even with the VPN activated and showing France.
When I go to the app store it says that my account isn’t supported in France. Is there a way to get the app?

Hi Ery. You’re right. Unlocator doesn’t seem to be working with Molotov right now. I’ve updated the article above to mention that point. Use ExpressVPN for now to get Molotov.tv outside France.
It seems that using a vpn is not enough anymore and is now detected by Molotov, since today at least (Nov 12 2016).It had been working nicely until now.
I tried unlocator smart DNS but the error message regarding access from abroad is still present….

Hi Rod. The issue with Apple TV is that it lacks a VPN client. Hence, you won’t be able to setup VPN directly on it. The alternative would be setting up a VPN connection on your router instead. Note that not all routers are VPN-compatible either.

Hello Isso, I have tried this, but when I configure the router with a VPN client on it, then my Apple TV 4generation behind it gets full internet connectivity via the VPN for all the apps, but Molotov.tv apps fails !! Same failure with my iPad or my Mac. But with these two devices, I alternatively install the VPN Client directly on them, and Molotov.tv works perfectly. It seems that the VPN client needs to be run on the device running the Molotov.tv application, and definitely not on the router. Any insight ?

I was using Getflix DNS and it was working perfectly until yesterday.
Now, it looks that the system detects that I am outside France!
Even with a VPN it doesn’t work anymore!

When I use a VPN service like PureVPN, i get access to Molotov.Tv without any problem. But I need to run the VPN client on the device running Molotov.TV. If I configure the router (Mikrotik) to set up a VPN client, and router all my devices via the VPN interface, I do not get access to Molotov.TV. When launching a channel streaming, I can track an initial big traffic on the VPN, but then it dies out and nothing on the screen. Is there any workaround that would allow to set up the VPN client on the router ?? that would allow ALL the devices behind the router to access Molotov.TV, instead of having to install VPN Client on ALL devices ????

Indeed I have also tried with UnLocator, and it also works. However in the recent days, their proxy seem overloaded and Molotov.tv has become choppy.
About the VPN solution: I don’t understand the reason why the VPN solution does not work when not run on the same device, but on the router. When I configure the router as per my previous mail, all the devices behind it can surf the web (via the VPN), but they cannot launch Molotov.tv

Tried to access Molotov using Hide My Ass from my laptop. I am only able to watch the 1st channel that loads automatically. Once I try to change channels, I get the notice that I am abroad. What to do?
