BT Sport outside UK – Unblock & Watch VPN DNS Proxy

BT Sport outside UK – Unblock with VPN
BT Sport detects your geo-location by looking up your IP address. Any IP address from outside UK gets geoblocked. You have to change your IP address to UK to watch BT Sport abroad. VPN enables you to get a UK IP address. These are the steps:

- Download the VPN app from your VPN provider’s website
- Launch the VPN app on your device and connect to a UK VPN server.
- Watch BT Sports in US, Canada, Germany, Australia. That’s all there is to it.

BT Sports outside UK – Watch with Smart DNS
Smart DNS, like VPN, enables you to stream BT abroad. DNS setup is quite different though. You have to obtain DNS codes and use them on your streaming device. Where do I get DNS codes to watch BT Sports outside UK? Well, there are free DNS codes online. But, I strongly urge you against use them. That’s because they are one of hackers’ favorite tools to steal your private info. Smart DNS services like Unlocator provide safe-to-use DNS codes. Get a free Unlocator account here.
Make sure you check out Unlocator’s setup guides. In addition to BT Sport, Unlocator allows you to unblock over 220 streaming websites from around the world. The list includes Sky, BBC, Channel 5, Now TV, 4oD.
BT Sport outside UK – The Conclusion
Whether you use VPN or Smart DNS to unblock BT Sports outside UK, you still need a BT subscription. Given BT Sport’s coverage of Champions League, MLB, NBA, and Nascar, it’s well worth it.
This is all rubbish. It is not possible to watch BT Sport in countries outside of the EU. Despite advertising claims neither BT Sport nor BBC iPlayer will stream using VPNs. Change computer DNS settings for a VPN and nothing changes. The message “BBC iPlayer only works in the UK. Sorry, it’s due to rights issues” will still appear.
Hello there. This actually does work. However, not all VPNs or Smart DNS proxies do support unblocking these channels. Which VPN are you currently using and on what device?
Can’t get BT sports on iPad with express van. Any solution?
Does not wirk with any VPN BT requires location services to be on I have tried several without success
Hi Len. As stated in the guide above, the BT Sport app on iOS and Android uses location service. Therefore you can neither use VPN or Smart DNS to unblock BT Sport outside UK on those devices. It should work on a PC or Mac though.
Yes thanks for that a great pity because I only use the iPad or iPhone overseas, shame location services can be hoodwinked some other way
Isso,
I suggest you actually try what you are suggesting because all VPN’s are blocked by BT Sport
Hello Charlie. That is certainly not true. However, due to the fact the BT Sport app uses location services on Android and iOS devices, you can neither use VPN or Smart DNS to watch BT Sport outside UK on them. However, other devices such as a PC or Mac certainly do work.
I have a bt sport subscription & want to use it while in Prague, but I only have an iPad and android phone, is there any way I can get it to work here?
More to the point internet agers….why do we allow the dinosaurs and exploiters to licence our location rather than us? I pay to subscribe. I don’t live in a village from which I never stray! I’m an individual who travels the world. Licence ME. Not my village!
There is only one way to get bt sport on your iPhone or iPad when outside the uk. I tried it when I went to Italy and it worked fine. It’s simple. When you are At the airport in the uk make sure you have your location services enabled. Then do not switch off your iPhone or iPad for the entire time you are abroad. I know it’s inconvenient and will drain your battery sooner but the location services will not update your location until it is either reset or the device is switched off and on. Your last gps location will be used which was the U.K
Is it that simple?
Currently in Morocco and same thing happening to me. Although it keeps coming up that it can not detect any wifi.
No problem obtaining skyhook and bbc iplayer
BT sport seems to detect I am outside of the UK even using a VPN. Works fine for BBC and Sky. Any ideas?
Same here…it appears that bt sport uses actual gps location to detect you are outside uk. A vpn is therefore worthless….something the von providers fail to let you know before subscribing.
They use Locations Services on IOS devices, so the VPN is useless. Thankfully no others do. You should be able to get it on a Laptop though.
