How to watch Vudu outside USA VPN vs DNS Proxy
How to access Vudu outside US using VPN
A VPN, abbr. of Virtual Private Network, connects you to a server in the US to reroute all your internet traffic via the US. Consequently, Vudu will think you are located in the States and thus grant you access to its blocked content. All you need to do is visit a VPN provider website and create an account. Some VPN providers are slow and sluggish. Therefore, the most essential move is to find a great, consistent, and fast VPN provider. VPN enables you to:
- Encrypt all your traffic and stop ISP, hackers, and government from spying on your online activity
- Change and hide your IP address, granting you anonymity online
- VPN is easily set up. ExpressVPN have a set of apps for Ipad,Iphone,Android,PC,Mac to assist you through the set up process. You’ll start watching your favorite movies in no time.
- VPN cannot be blocked by ISP policies as DNS hijacking and Transparent proxies.
- Get access to all your favorite blocked channels like Netflix, Now TV, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Crackle, and many more.
Some devices are not equipped with a VPN client. In such instances, you need to setup VPN on your router “the router has to be VPN enabled”. ExpressVPN do provide multiple US servers and great support, apart from the VPN apps above. Check them out if you dont already have a VPN subscription.

How to stream Vudu outside America using Smart DNS proxies
If your device doesn’t support VPN, you can alternatively choose Smart DNS to access geo-restricted streaming services such as Vudu, Netflix, BBC iplayer, WWE Network, UFC Fight Pass, or Amazon Instant Video. Smart DNS is a great tool in its own right. A Smart DNS redirects some of your connections via a US server to get Vudu to think you’re located in the US.
Smart DNS has other benefits:
- No slow down in internet speed since Smart DNS avoids passing all you traffic through its servers.
- Local IP address does not switch to a foreign one, so your access to your local sites is not provoked.
- Access various restricted channels from different regions at the same time. For example BBC Iplayer and Canal Plus, while changing Netflix regions to USA or other.
- You do not need to install any additional software to make it work.
- Works smoothly on all your favorite consoles and appliances (PS3, PS4, Xbox, iphone, iPad, android, Smart TV, Blu-ray players..)
I have been using Unlocator for quite some while. If you want to check them out, they do provide a free 7 day trial, roughly 214 unblocked media channels, and beginners guides in Video and Screenshots to get you started.

Hi – we used have unotelly dns for accessing vudu, but that seems to have disappeared. I have tried using getflix dns but its not working on my bluray player. Works on a laptop but want to watch movies on a big screen geflix support are pretty clueless. Any ideas?
Hello Anna. You might want to give Unlocator a try.
I am going to Mexico soon and understand VUDU works there. I rarely purchase their movies but have a large library of digital movies in the “my VUDU” tab. Will I be able to access these in Mexico? Some of the movies I have not yet watched; it would be great to watch on vacation. Thanks.
Hello Ginger. Yes, if you use VPN or Smart DNS you can access your Vudu movie library in Mexico or elsewhere abroad.
I live in Denmark and I have tried both Unlocator and Unblock Us and nothing works.
I have been able to watch Vudu on my PS3 for several years but now it only works on my iPhone.
It suddenly stopped working one day on my PS3 and now the system say that entered mail address or password it not correct even though it is. I’ve tried to change the password several times but it doesn’t help:-(
Any good advises?
Hi Tanni. Try contacting your Smart DNS support department.
I subscribed to HideMyAss specifically for VUDU access and no deal. They apparently are wise to all of HideMyAss’s US servers.
Hello William. Use ExpressVPN or Smart DNS to unblock Vudu outside USA instead.
Could not connect to server. Please try logging in again. [#5000]
This is what you get if you try VPN to Vudu :( (from UK)
According to their official forums the keep an active list of VPNs that offer USA location service.
It seems like another sponsored article. I’m not going to give my card details to Express VPN without being able to test it. I don’t care about money back guarantee…
Hi. You might wonna give Unlocator a try for free. There is no need to give your credit card details to sign up with them and they do support unblocking Vudu in UK.
I installed ExpressVPN on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and connectedto a USA server successfully. However, when I log into Google Play (the app store) I cannot get VUDU app because it’s apprantly no good in my country (France).
any idea how to bypass that?
thanks
You have to change your Google Play Store region to US in order to download American apps on your Android. To do that, follow these steps:
1. Connect to an American VPN server.
2. On your Android, go to settings -> apps.
3. Choose Google Play Store
4. Select “Force Stop”, “Clear Data”, and “Clear Cache”
5. Launch the Goole Play Store app
6. You should be in the US region now.
Hi there. Tried following your tips but it hasn’t worked… anything else I need to do?
Hi James. Which method have you chosen to unblock Vudu?
I worked it out thanks… you have to sign out of all google apps including google play. had to do that using the ‘Logout’ app… not straight forward!! Then log back in using an email address based in US.
